ABOUT ME

I am fashion commentator based in Helsinki, Finland. Currently working at Aalto in the arts department. When not scouring the streets for the latest and greatest in the world of fashion or working, I like to practice and teach yoga, read about science and art, catch up with my closest friends. Cook. eat.

I am interested in those stories that you are not telling me. Curiosity defines me. Languages feed my life force.

Optimise my potential to live all my dreams in the current life, so I can dream up more for my next life :)

People see me as colourful, energetic, fun loving, happy Person. I see me as an Extroverted Introvert, I am hypersensitive, very VeRy emotional, very easily attached. I am highly empathetic to a dangerous degree , I counter this predisposition with care so I don't become melancholic, by being cheerful, spreading that cheer and further feeding off of that cheer, there is no effort in this anymore, this has become who I am, I see a smiling face and I smile, I feed off of positive energy.

I also like to think that I have higher emotional intelligence and this helps me in my acting.

PHILOSOPHY

Living is mostly about adding value to the quality of life, I would like to be that person who brings quality when you meet me. The best exchange is when I can learn something from you at the same time teach something to you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By being open to the idea of couch surfing, not just to surf but to host. How else can I participate but just be myself and Open the door that lets you in.

I have to mention that I don't really enjoy hosting for one night, unless you have already stayed with me before AND we know each other well enough for me to make this exception. If I don't know you, I'd like to get to know you and it's not possible for a night. So I request you to not write to me if it's for one night only.

I also request you to read my profile fully and to write to me with more details about yourself, and of course if you are in a rush or in a hurry there are other services that address these exact needs, couch surfing I feel is really to meet people we wouldn't meet otherwise to spend time and to share. It's not just about surfing. I might change my mind. However this is what I think for now :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only been lucky so far, with my hosts and my surfers. However sometimes I do land a random Non-Flusher, An absolute messy person. However these people helped me discover my limits of tolerance.

I enjoy the fact that anyone from any part of the world can knock on any one's door for staying at their place.

Music, Movies, and Books

My reading habits are very erratic and changing, I can read a book like The Prophet (by Khalil Gibran) over and over again. I read fiction, non-fiction. I love books that have just images/photographs.

Music.-
Listening : I am an agnostic . I am still searching for a genre. I love Indian film music. I love music.
Playing: I am now learning to play the classic Indian scale and the blues scale on the guitar. I didn't even know how to hold a guitar (and here, I feel compelled to put a date of the edit, 12/12/2015, 18:13).

Movies: ??? My Mom tells me I used to kick and make merry in her belly everytime she went to watch a movie. So I know my passion for cinema was birthed before I was born.
I work at Various film festivals in Finland, The most regular is the Midnight Sun Film Festival, the northern most festival in the world. Love &Anarchy in Helsinki.
I also organise MEFA (Middle eastern film and arts festival) since 2014, In October.

(So during these times I'm busy and I can't regretfully respond to messages or host you beautiful people. Might be exceptions. So do write in to check :) And I really don't care about CS's way of ranking my response rate. )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a day with a street kid in Bodhgaya. (A long story better told in person.)

I can teach you French, Simple Indian food, To make a paper box you can use to wrap your gifts in. (origami) To make Chai.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have worked in a fashion field while I was studying, I have studied French and taught it professionally, I have a vast experience in 3 ancient traditions of Yoga, which I currently teach in Helsinki, Finland. I will be very happy to give you some tips on the colours you could choose to wear to enhance your overall mood. Give you a good Yoga lesson. Teach you a phrase or two in French. Also I can cook you a filling, spicy or non spicy south Indian meal.
