ABOUT ME

I love to DANCE ( currently learning swing dancing) , am easily amused and very enthusiastic about life, I LOVE to travel and new adventures, I have no musical talents to offer as entertainment I'm sorry! I love FOOD ( a lot! ) and great books. I am exceedingly friendly as you will find out and I absolutely love to share and think eating is a very important social activity.

Right now:
I am in my final year doing a Masters in Environmental Science, I'm helping produce a climate change documentary called Atmosphere, and I am involved with youth climate organisation called UK Youth Climate Coalition ( UKYCC).

In general:

I love travelling but I guess that's a given and I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. My favourite part of travelling is the people I meet and sharing experiences with them rather doing touristy things.

I study Environmental Science, and therefore am interested in issues to do with climate change, sustainability, alternative ways of living and alternative economic and political structures. I have also been recently trying to get back in touch with my "creative" side and hope to write a book one day! That's the dream!

I have always been interested in food issues particularly food waste, and am involved in a permaculture community allotment project at home, urban harvesting projects and community projects that take waste food and cook for the community such as Food Not Bombs in Canada,FoodCycle in the UK and currently a food waste cafe which operates on a Pay As you Feel basis called the Real Junk food Project.

PHILOSOPHY

I find the joy in the small things in life and I laugh when it all goes wrong because if you don't you're gonna have a pretty crap time cause life never follows your plan. Also always THE MORE THE MERRIER!

I have had the absolute pleasure to be hosted all across North America, and have hosted back in the UK as well!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was at a CS campsite in Guca, Serbia which was AMAZING so I'm completely sold on the CS thing.

Music- anything that will make me dance. Love at the moment: Bonobo, Cinematic Orchestra, Ben Howard, Wild Nothing, Phaeleh, Luisa Maita, also love house, drum and bass, some funky soul, reggae, dub and dancehall, world music, jazz

Movies- no horror please. La vite e bella, Some Like It Hot, Leon, all David Attenborough documentaries, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Almost Famous,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

danced on the stage at Guca Festical with Chantel,
lived in Ethiopia for a month and ended up on National television,
went to Secret Garden Party ( a festival in England you know what I mean if you've been )
Rio Carnival, the Igacu Falls,
Trekked for a week at Torres Del Paine, Patagonia - probably one of the best experiences of my life.
Skiied through a blizzard the first time I ever went skiing.

I've done a bee keeping course if that helps anyone?
I love to share the fun places I've been to, so if I know anything about somewhere you wanna go or do I will go out of my way to tell you EVERYTHING about it!
I can make tetra pak wallets, and cardboard furniture.
I am also very good at massages and love to give them.
I make a good apple crumble.
