Hi! I’m CHEN QI, 23 years old, an exchange student currently studying at Tokyo Metropolitan University for 6 months. For the past three years, I've been studying for a bachelor's degree at the National University of Malaysia. Traveling and meeting new people and learning from them is something I enjoy. And I've been lucky to have met many helpful hosts during my solo trips to Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines. I'm very grateful to them for making my experience so memorable.

I hope I can be a qualified couch surfer. I usually bring some gifts and treat my hosts to a meal to express my gratitude. Or I learn what they like and bring them something. I hope I can make them happy by doing this. Thank them for providing a place to stay and taking me to explore and give me information in a strange place.

Surfing: I learned surfing in Lombok, Indonesia and La Union, Philippines. This is a sport I fell in love with during college. Every time I caught a wave, I enjoyed the feeling of standing on the surfboard and gliding with the waves and the wind.

I like Muay Thai: I think this is a sport that can exercise muscles in all parts of the body. This is also my interest in going to the boxing gym when I feel stressed and unhappy. After boxing, I feel very relaxed and happy.
I like drinking, but not in a very drunk state. Drinking can also make me happy. When I was studying in Malaysia, my favorite thing to do at home was to sit on the sofa by the window and drink in the breeze. I like whiskey, vodka and gin the most.

I like marathons: I will participate in a marathon in Penang in 2023 and I am very happy to get the 6th place.

I also like horseback riding, archery and golf if the time is right. I completed the horseback riding and archery course in Malacca. When I was in college, there was a golf driving range next to it. Sometimes I went back there alone in the afternoon to play.

I like traveling alone, but sometimes I am afraid, but I am happy to try such challenges.

I drink coffee and play tennis occasionally. I am from Zhongshan, Guangdong, China, and grew up in a rural area. I like traveling. Japan is the 7th country.
