About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel around Europe

ABOUT ME

I perceive traveling as a way to understand different cultures and to embed oneself into others' daily life. I want to uphold my dream of traveling around the world even though I may face many obstacles. The great thing about traveling is meeting new people by coincidence and fate.

Another awesome aspect of traveling is the chance to satisfy my appetite. I, as a foodie would like to have the opportunity to try all types of cuisines and enjoy cultures of different parts of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to do what others think you should do, do what you truly love.

If a person can bring back one souvenir from a trip. What would it be? Someone might choose something unique from a certain area. Another might record the beautiful scenery throughout the trip. Another may learn to be independent. And yet another may learn how to cherish things. No matter which one it is, all the experiences become part of our lives, and these make who we are. I used to believe travel teaches us about the world. Now I realize we through the world and travel learn more about ourselves. --- from Movie A moment of love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am willing to host couchsurfers from all over the world. And in return,I hope I will be welcomed in a foreign country too.

A couchsurfer living in my place will not only enjoy the beautiful skyline of Singapore but will also get to know how ordinary Singaporean lives. I will be more than happy to present you the authentic Singapore!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During an internship in China, I happen to live with an American couple. It is such a unique and fun experience! My host is pretty friendly and caring. We used to cook dinner together and I cooked some Singaporean dishes for them during Christmas.

They have a dog called Ricky. I helped them to walk Ricky twice a day even though I used to have phobia to dogs.

One thing I always remember about this couch surfing is that the electric heater caught fire in the middle of the night. My host and I thought so hard about what to use to extinguish the fire. In face of emergency, all lifesaving skills learnt in school just could not be recalled. In the end, we both ran out of the house into the freezing winter wind to get soil. All these shared experiences keep us in contact even after m departure.

During my European trip, I utilized couchsurfing more often and ut presents me with many surprises. I have a chance to put myself into the local's life and see a more authentic part of a city.
