Hey Everyone!
My name is Yarik. Although this is not my legal name, I prefer people to call me this way.
I came from China, but with a quite weird multicultural background, mainly due to my father's work, so less mainly due to my inconsistency and wanderlust. My life is an inconsistent combination of my academic career, athletic enthusiasm, and my wanderlust.

Academically, I am dedicated to the mechanism of biological events and how the malfunction and dysregulation of these events lead to diseases. It has been 6 bittersweet years since I choose this career path, and I am still fighting for higher accomplishment in my academic career. This career forced me to leave my beloved hometown, led me to Hong Kong and Japan, and now stranded me in Copenhagen (Just kidding).

Sports occupy most of my spare time. I started playing table tennis and badminton at 6, trained as a swimmer at 10, and picked up tennis and volleyball in high school. After entering college, I got exposed to curling and won 3 medals in the students' tournament in Beijing. I would happily play any of these sports with you in your city/Beijing/Copenhagen. If there happens to be a curling rink nearby, I could also give you a curling 101. Let's rock on the ice! 🥌

Travel is a massive part of my life. Being in a different city makes me feel thrilled. At this stage of life, I am no longer fascinated with traveling with a huge agency. I desire a deep connection with the local people; I would like to learn their philosophy in their lives. That's the main reason why I am on Couchsurfing. Currently, I am interested in the military castles/fortresses across Europe. If there happens to be one in your city, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Thanks for your interest in staying with me during your trip to Copenhagen or Beijing.

For Copenhagen:
My roommate and I live in an excellent apartment in a residential area in Copenhagen. We only consider hosting people in a condition that one of us is out of town. So please send me a message first to check availability. Also, I will update frequently about the dates we could hold.

As we share the bathroom and kitchen with others, and we don't want any female travelers feel unsafe during their trip, we only consider hosting male solo travelers. We can tolerate lots of imperfection, but we have strict no smoke, no drug, and no alcohol policy to secure our safety.

We are also open to hangout invitations =). If you feel like having some pics in this beautiful city, I could help.

For Beijing:
My parents and I live in a huge flat in Shijingshan District, very close to the Winter Olympics Heritage in Beijing. We are happy to host you if time permits.

My parents prefer to host female travelers in Beijing. It would be terrific if you were not very loud at nighttime.

We could pick you up if you travel to Beijing by train.
