Hello there, my name is Sandy (Qihui) Qian. I am from Macau but grew up in Mainland China before attending high school in. I am now doing an undergraduate degree in London.

Aside from student, I will identify myself an artist, although not professional. I love art and create artworks myself. Most of the time I create my art pieces using watercolour, graphite pencils or computer (I do digital painting).

Personally I am an open-minded person and like to listen to stories from different people. I have been so experienced in sitting in classrooms worrying about equations and marks, but I want myself at my 20s and my artworks to be more than. And that is why I decided to step out for travel, to learn different people, lives and cultures. I hope I could explore more about the world as well as more about myself during the journey, while getting some inspiration for my artworks.

I have recently started to plan to travel to different places around the world. Experiencing cultures more deeply and meeting different people, rather than simply getting a place to stay, is the main reason I am Coushsurfing. (Travelling with lower cost is also a hope honestly!)

My Favorite Artist is a Japanese band called Yorushika （ヨルシカ）.I like many of the songs written by them.

There are quite a lot of movies that are my favorite. Here are some of them: "The Dead Poetry Society", "The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl （夜は短し歩けよ乙女）”, "The Eleventh Chapter (第十一回)"). Recently I watched and was quite impressed by the Hong Kong biographical movie "Center Stage (阮玲玉)". Aside from watching movie, sometimes I like to read about the article scholars write in films studies about the movies and think about the implication of screen images.

I love reading, although usually the rate of my reading never keeps up with the rate of purchasing haha. Eventually I have a long book list and stacks of book at home. My favorite book: " Night on the Galactic Railroad" by Miyazawa Kenji.
