ABOUT ME

I have an awesome family. My wife is incredible. My son is adorable. I have a beautiful new daughter (born February 17, 2012). My parents are great friends and my sisters are so talented. With that foundation life is always good, no matter what is happening in other areas of life. I am a former staff member of Landmark Education. I learned a lot from being a staff member and continue to find the skills, ways of thinking and distinctions very useful. Now I am leading a small business. It has often been a humbling experience, but I'm learning a lot. The challenge has made life exciting. I love reading. If I didn't have to work for money, I'd probably read 4-5 hours a day. I'm the kind of reader that won't stop a good book no matter how late (or early in the next morning) it is. So although I really wanted to try my hand at business, I love that I had a chance to do it with a book store. I am studying Chinese and I really like speaking and listening. I start to miss hearing Chinese when I am in America. However, I don't study nearly enough. I like playing basketball and volleyball, but haven't done either lately. I practiced yoga last year and have found it very rewarding. Now that I've stopped I am getting soft and my weight is pooling around the middle. Now that the weather has turned I like hiking Fushan. I am also trying to get better at ping pong.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed on some coaches and attended meetings in Qingdao and Beijing. My wife and I also hosted a great couple. I think this is a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. I think that my friends would say that I am honest and generous, so let's say that what I am doing to build this community is to be honest and generous with others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My wife and I hosted a wonderful couple from Kentucky. They stayed with us for a week. We had many great conversations. It was such a fun and rewarding experience.

The last movie I saw was The Bucket List. I thought it was great.
I love the Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo, The Lord of the Rings, Atlas Shrugged, Abarat by Clive Barker, really I could list hundreds of books that made a difference to me. I love reading Where the Wild Things Are aloud.
I don't care much for music, but I really like Billy Joel.

Deep thinkers, especially people who are responsible in their thought and actions. I love people who follow their passions and takes risks. I want to be around people interested in making a difference. I also appreciate when my Chinese teachers and yoga instructors are cute.
