About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working at a district hospital makes me feel like working at a medical camp -- it's quite challenging but exciting getting used to the environment in underabundance of equipment while working out the alternatives of treatment

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Malaysia, previously graduated in medicine from one of the medical schools in Russia (living there for 6 years), I'm now working as a doctor being posted to a district hospital,Daro Hospital after completion of my 2-year internship rotations in Medical, Surgical, Obstetrics and Gynaecology,Pediatric, Orthopedic departments, as well as department of Anesthesiology & Intensive Care. I have a profound passion in music and used to be actively involved in it. However, I haven't been playing music much for a while since I started working. I play the piano, sing, write songs, and I also play a Chinese traditional musical instrument called Yang Qing, which looks like a Dulcimer. Aside from music, I simply enjoy learning different languages and getting to know different cultures. Well, who knows the languages Iâ

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Before I realize it, I've learnt so much about travelling just by meeting fellow CSers and surfing some of their couches ever since I participate in the CS Project. In exchange, I would definitely welcome those of you who would like to visit my hometown here in Kuching, Malaysia. Kuching is known as the cat city, according to the Malay context. Well, there are several diff versions of the legends, and stories, about how Kuching got its name as the cat city. So, if u're interested in paying a visit, I would try my best to provide assistance, answering your qs and doubts. I may not be a good tour guide who's informative enough, but if you prefer,i could try my best to show you around if I'm free after getting off work.=)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Thanks to my friend who introduced me to CS years ago, I've met many wonderful people, and had so much fun, making more friends of different countries, which in turn, widens my social circle.CS-ing is indeed, so much more beyond just free lodging. I would love to participate more in any CS activities in future. =)

Music, Movies, and Books

Enya's my all-time fav, but I don't have any specific preferences. I'm easily in love with any kinds of music that slip through my ears.=P Rock (J-Rock and alternative rock are my favourite, but i love classic rock, punk rock, metal as well), Pop, Acoustic, R&B, Hip-Hop, Ballad, or even Jazz, Blues, classical, world music, soundtracks...anything that soothes my ears will do.=)

Books? Hmmmm...do cookery books count? haha..=P I read magazines on Interior designs. I guess the only literature that I have read these few years was "Kafka on the shore" by Haruka Murakami, which I have read 2 years ago. :P
Besides,I love all action movies starred by Steven Seagal, Jet Li and Ben Affleck, or any movies which involve car racing with nice cars.=)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Back when I was a medical student, I formed a band in Kursk,Russia, early in year 2008,consisting of drummer, bassist, electric and acoustic guitarists, 2 keyboardists, 2 vioinists, and a flute player playing Chinese flute. I combined rock music elements with Chinese as well as Western classical music elements in arrangements of the songs we play. My band soon became popular in town due to the unique rock ethnic music that we performed, which seems appealing to the Russians, and we were known as the exotic rock band by the local media. We named our band "Dragon 9" or "deviat drakonof" in Russian since there were 9 of us. And believe it or not? All 9 of us were medical students.Hehe=)I still miss them all and the life we had together even now.=)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Venezuela, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
