Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

I'll Make It To The Moon If I Have To Crawl

ABOUT ME

My personality cannot be conveyed accurately over the internet. You need to just meet me in person. Let's be friends!

PHILOSOPHY

The world is a great book. Those who never stir from home read but a page.
-St Augustine

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In recent years my participation has been slacking, although I would really like to change that. Upon moving to Boston, my husband and I moved into a small apartment that is a bit too cramped to house guests comfortably. Hopefully soon we'll be able to move into a larger space.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before CS: I've spent a lot of my life sleeping at other people's houses.

Hosted: Joanna Pyk and her three friends, Christina Faulkner, Angela Haas, Alex Weber

Surfed: Stephanie D in St Malo, KIKO in Girona, Lucile G in Nantes, Lae in Lyon, Danielle in Florence

A disclaimer: While couchsurfing in Italy my friend and I had a number of really unfortunate, uncontrollable experiences that reflect on us as being poor guests. I would just like to clear the air a bit and remind any potential hosts that things CAN go wrong very easily when you're traveling and to please keep in mind that it's never something that is done purposely by the guest (or at least in my case it's not). It's also a very good idea to provide as much information on your location in a city BEFORE your guests get there, so if something does go wrong they have something to work with.

Música, películas y libros

Movies:
The Secret Garden
Atlantis, Spirited Away, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Transporter, Cool World, Mean Girls, Big Daddy, The Hot Chick, Scary Movie 2, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Shawshank Redemption, The Crow, A Beautiful Mind, The Pirates of the Carribean, Rat Race, LOTR, Braveheart, Finding Nemo, Interstella 5555, Frengully, Pan's Labrynth, Lord of War, Idiocracy, Star Dust, Howl's Moving Castle

Music: Way too much to list here. But I generally like anything that doesn't suck. I know that's a rather broad statement, but you don't know if something sucks until you listen to it. I give most music a fair chance.

Books: Also rather difficult since I'm such a bookworm... so here are some of my favs:

Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind, Cloudstreet by Tim Winton, Eye of the Dragon by Stephan King, Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey, A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt, Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George, Huis Clos by Sartre, The World Without Us by Alan Weisman, The Wilderness Series by Sara Donati, The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, The Kite Runner by Khaled Husseini, The Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson plus there are all those countless books I read for my history minor and many many more.
