Overview
About Me
Currently, I'm trying to bike across the country, alone.
I am an unabashed Millennial, a technologist and a flagrant virtue-signaller. I consider myself logical, reasonable, and scientific in a way that complements my spiritual, moral, and emotional priorities. I like to play games, which some see as containers for experimentation. I practice Judaism, which I see as a container for reverence cast in joy and remembrance.
I am also trying to learn to skateboard, because my body is too chair-shaped!
I have spent the last year doing some labor organizing, because while voting is cool, have you tried acting on the belief that all our political power stems from our strategic positioning as workers in the global industrial system?
I play the saxophone, and am always happy to jam with other musicians.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am taking a professional sabbatical, and feel compelled NOT to spend it sitting up in my room. Instead, I want to immerse myself in some different environments and communities!

Music, Movies, and Books
Weirdly, this last year has been a lot of Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, William Ackerman, Don Ellis, but also Electric Light Orchestra, Janelle Monáe, Julianna Barwick, and The Supremes. I also played Schubert's Erlkönig a bunch of times to really feel my professional angst. Most of my listening is in the long tail, though, with one or two tracks by a bunch of different artists. I think that's normal, right?

This year, I'm only reading women authors: Octavia Butler, Mary Miller, Nnedi Okorafor, Katy Bowman, Nancy Isenberg, Angela Nagle, Margaret Atwood, Assata Shakur, Roxane Gay, Barbara Ehrenreich (❤️), Starhawk, Annie Jacobsen, Isabel Allende, Lois McMaster Bujold, Beck Chambers, bell hooks, and Naomi Klein.
