About Me

Hey,
I'm Quentin, 28 years old, and experiencing life as well as I can.
Since I've degreed from highschool I have had a quiet a few experiences such as traveling in Asia and Europe, Trying out several studies without achieving any, fastly starting to work for my living... I went from the local circus as a stage assistant to the Lycée français, where I'd teach children how to juggle or walk on a ball, to handwalk and act like clowns... I spent two years in a company as a kid entertainer, disguised as a Magic Wizard, a Proud Knight, A Mysterial Prophet or a Desgusting Farmer, playing with rubber swords and telling old mysterious legends to kids running around and jumping on my back... At that same period I began to volunteer as a location manager on Student shortfilms shootings. I eventually made my work of it, and now it is not me dreaming with children anymore, but adults ordering me to make their dreams come true... only problems to solve, one after the other, for that's my job now: "Ask me the moon, I'll say No problem". I am Now taking a few months break after a very loooong television serie shooting and starting to think of learning new things and make a change, find a new path...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It simply is a very good way to travel cheaply and closer to inhabitants. It makes travelling an actual experience, you get to know people faster and better, reaching other places, offering more possibilities. In the last few years I've lived in large places with big communities, and hosting was a daily gesture towards travelers, musicians, friends from around the world, or homeless people. Though it can be exhausting sometimes, it helps overcoming fears, differences, and helps becoming a more tolerant and better person. Above all, it gives both hosts and guests the opportunity to exchange a lot, from travel tales and food customs to local matters while sharing a dinner or walking around the hood...

Music, Movies, and Books

I Think I kind of Love music for itself... if it comes from a true feeling, such as a real story, an honest testimony, it just makes you more alive and brings you closer to yourself, as in any other kind of art. I mostly love World Traditional music, Reggae, Rock, Pop, ...

Movies:
Fight Club: for its criticism of society and the unevitable collapse of its soft and vicious illusions as it takes everything from a human being to feed itself.
Baraka: Wandering through human civilization with a unique beauty... It makes me question a lot about the meanings and purposes of life.
Pulp Fiction: Pure modern cinema, good dialogues, great action, crazy editing and amazing directing... A Must
The Last of the Mohicans: THE Movie I watched over and over as a kid. Spent years running around in the gardens and forests pretending i was hunting a deer accompagnied by a mystical force emerging from the forest itself.

Books:
Shantaram: Amazingly written, and an adventure through the best and the worst of humanity like no other...
The shadow of the Wind: Barcelona, mid 20th century. A Poetic tale made out of mysteries, amazingly described locations and very complex caracters. A book that makes you feel as a very rare, lucky reader...
The Century Trilogy: A multi-generational tale from several families of nobles, miners, politicians, self-made men... from Russia, England, America, Germany... living the main issues of their times and witnessing the worlds fascinating changes occuring through the century. The whole is offering a vision of very large perspectives which gives great hints for a better understanding of our world as it is today...
