About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel and meet fellow travelers. I wish to remain inspired by others who share my curiosity of the world. Hospitality.

ABOUT ME

Q in a nutshell:
- thoroughly enjoy hiking and camping and running and swimming and being out of doors in general
- vegetables are my jam
- loud music and cold beers
- short shorts and jean jackets and sunny days

PHILOSOPHY

I find happiness through friendships and intrapersonal growth. Oh, and a great run can brighten any day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host. Surf. You get the picture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Through my former home, French House Co-op, I hosted surfers from across the world (Australia, Sweden, Chicago, Denmark). I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them as individuals -- from exchanging silly stories about summer faeries to discussing profound personal philosophies and reasons for travel. Also, I take pride in showing my new friends around the city I love. Although I surely have a variety of recommendations for food/nature/nightlife/coffee shops/bookstores/etcetera up my sleeves, I strive to accommodate the wishes of surfers in my goal to provide incredible hospitality, something I have been shown by beautiful people on many, many occasions.

While on the road, I have surfed in New Orleans, Brussels, Paris, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Zagreb, Hyères, and Portland. ~~Always down to meet new people, listen, learn, and go on groovy adventures~~

Interests

Reading, vegetables, BYOB roller skating, coffee, porch swings, drag shows, hiking, camping, war (as a student of history), running, beers, dancing (usually after a few beers...), dirty boots (Sonic Youth-esque), live music in venues that could reasonably be described as filthy punk dens

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scaling mountains in Huaraz, Peru

Backpacking across Europe dipping my toes into all kinds of seas and trouble and making all sorts of friends along the way

Swimming my buns off in the Côte d'Azur

Road tripping the Great American West (a personal moniker) spending wonderful time in all sorts of unspeakably stunning destinations (Yellowstone, Glacier, Olympic, Redwoods, Yosemite, Death Valley, Zion, Grand Canyon). While on the road, my travel mate and I occupied ourselves with Dan Carlin's 'Hardcore History' and innumerable cans of black beans supplemented with extraordinary volumes of hot sauce.
