About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting grounded so I can fly.

ABOUT ME

I'm sort of a level-headed goofy kid who has found herself in a grownup rabbithole I call "exploring."

More importantly, I am a complete product of my family who taught me the importance of independence, trust, social justice, dreaming big, having fun, and sharing it all with others.

Hrmmm....what else. I ramble, I write. I live for the stories that are being told and being written.

I'm a teacher who gets just as excited about describing faraway lands and I get about discussing vocabulary and syntax (that says a lot). I'm a hitchhiker who once bought a one-way ticket to an island. I'm a vegetarian who supports the culture of barbecue. I'm an English major who rarely finishes the many books I'm perpetually reading. I'm a Chiefs girl who has lived almost six years in Denver. I say â

PHILOSOPHY

Meaningful fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've emailed with CouchSurfers throughout SE Asia while traveling, so I'm really energized about the abilities of this site. A friend referred this website, and I still think it's terrific. I just had the opportunity to show a handful of fellow CSers around Guam, too, which makes me eager to continue supporting this site. I'm also excited that I've started meeting CSers in the Denver area thanks to BuddyBeers (a CS-based event). Surf on!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Sam come on island, and when I explained what my friends and I were doing that weekend, he came along for a hash run, which is an "adventure running group" of sorts, you could say. When I accidentally took a spill and wasted my ankle, though, the night turned into him being my human crutch. I've also shown people from Ecuador, Taiwan, and Switzerland around beautiful Guam. I've had terrific times, and felt energized about the great people who are using this site. I'm eager to pay it forward!

Interests

Gabbing the night away, promoting social awareness and connectedness, hashing through the hills of Guam (hashguam.com), travel and the adventures that accompany it (obviously), teaching, paddling outrigger canoes, kayaking, SCUBA, snorkeling, catching good music, learning about cultural and political entities, learning, reading, ultimate frisbee
