About Me

I’m a young chronically ill person who occasionally travels & loves to meet new people. Writer, performing poet/artist, resident pun-groaner. I love a quiet night in to rest my lungs & collect stories for who knows what. My roomie & I are all about equity, accessibility, & community care. We have a medium sized dog who is cuddly if she loves you, grumbly if she doesn’t, but is chill regardless, I don’t cook but I’ll wash all your dishes if you’ll let me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m generally happier staying with someone who knows the city, rather than all on my own in a hotel. Some of the coolest people I know I’ve met in hostels. Seems Couchsurfing is a natural divergence from that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’ve got an eclectic taste in all media I consume. All time fav musician: Laura Jane Grace. Instrumental is for writing, lyrics are for bus rides. Show: Over the Garden Wall; if you haven’t watched it, it’s 2.5hrs well-spent (it’s my favourite & only Halloween tradition). Movie: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I love a lot of them but I can’t think of any right now. Oh, The Tigger Movie. Books: all of my friends’ chapbooks, so many zines, AC Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle, all of Terry Pratchett’s work, ditto on Gaiman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived to 21, died 5 times but it hasn’t stuck yet! A more socially accepted brag is I’ve opened for the radical The Body Is Not An Apology during Vancouver’s poetry festival, Verses Festival of Words.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk your ear off about disability culture & history, access movements past & present, punk music history & evolution, the intricate complexities of the human body... I love to learn from passionate people, I never get tired of stories, generally I enjoy a cup of tea & some good long chats (or quiet, I promise I don’t have to talk).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, cleaning help, petsitting
