Hello!

My partner, Parker, and I are currently traveling in Europe together-- me for the third time and Parker for the first!

Though my profile here is new to the couchsurfing community, I am not: my family has hosted over 20 guests in our home in Portland, OR, as well as having couch surfed with lovely hosts in the US and Europe over the last 5 years.

Parker and I enjoy contemporary art, theater, music, and the outdoors, and would really enjoy to get to know the people we meet while surfing. We are particularly interested in queer and lgbtq+ culture in the places we visit, and believe that the best way to find that is through people who live it everyday!

We are both theater makers, most recently serving as stage hands for the world premiere dance adaptation of Sufjan Stevens's Illinois. We enjoy going to concerts and performance pieces, taking city walks, hiking, and eating and drinking local foods while we travel. We are looking to find safe spaces for trans people, as we are both non-binary (using he/they (Quinland) and they/he (Parker) pronouns).

Music: All subgenres of alternative, indie and folk, some punk and post-punk. The Decemberists, Hippo Campus, Ezra Furman, Remember Sports, Sidney Gish, The Front Bottoms, black midi, The Talking Heads, Fiona Apple

Movies: Fargo, Kiki's Delivery Service (and all Miyazaki movies!) When Harry Met Sally, But I'm a Cheerleader, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Princess Bride, Coraline, any John Waters movies, Pride and Prejudice

TV Shows: Twin Peaks, Sense8, Bob's Burgers, Project Runway, Regular Show, Letterkenny, Barry

Books and Plays: We are currently reading Cloud Cuckoo Land (which is great!) and our favorite books and plays include When You Reach Me, Hir, Springtime, Torch Song Trilogy, Revolt She Said Revolt Again, In The Dream House. We listen to lots of podcasts, like You're Wrong About, Scam Goddess and basketball podcasts.
