I've worked primarily in the Renewable energy industry for the last 6 years with occasional forays into acting and more recently treehouse construction (and tv production). I grew up in boats and cars, somewhere between Seattle (WA), the coast and the Puget Sound. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY and am pursuing a position with the Seattle Fire Dept.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to host a few people in Brooklyn sometime soon. I'm also hoping couchsurfing can facilitate some short term stays in a few cities I'd like to visit.

Interests

Music, acting, mixed medium performance. I love getting out to see standup in NY. When I'm not in NY I like to get into the mts or somewhere on the water. Swimming often defines destination for me.

I listen to most things, lately: Sylvan Esso, James Blake, Houndmouth, Paul Simon, Alt-j, Alabama Shakes, D'Angelo.
I read a lot of short stories and investigative journalism. The last book I read was "Let the Great World Spin" by Colum Mcann.
A perennial favorite movie is The Life Aquatic, but more recently I watched and enjoyed Dope and I've got nothing against a blockbuster like Guardians of the Galaxy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing is a lot to ask. Some of my favorite experiences have been working in Antarctica and working as a Fire Lookout in a mountaintop tower.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I worked as a cook for several years and I've managed to perfect a few dishes that are consistently received well. I've also worked as a carpenter and can fix most things in a house.
