About Me
Hey there, keen couchsurfing fellow!
So, who am I? Well... uhm... self assesments been never my true strenghts... My ID for example says: Max Schmidt, at the moment 19 years, born in Darmstadt, Germany, male, 179cm tall and bluegreenish eyes. Yeah... Pretty dry. Maybe I start off, with what Im currently doing... So last year summer, i finished school (finally!!!!!!!!). After that I decided to start a small kind of gap year thing and visit the three cultures that pull me the most: Scandinavia, South Africa and Japan. I planned to stay in each of them, a total of three months to really get "into" the culture. Last year winter, Ive already been to the cold nort, where I worked with huskys at freezing temperatures (dayng... sometimes minus 30) under the northern lights. Then, in spring I experianced South Africa! Boy its been some amazing months, I already had.... Im thankfull for everything that has happened. Now for the grand the finale, its about time to experiance Japan! I landed in Tokyo about a month ago now and am sice then ciclying through this beatful country... So yea... I bought a bike up there... And this is basically my storry. I think, Im more like a super unorganized traveler, who just ”lives” and enjoys the moment. hey! know what? why dont we just meet? Then i can find out, who is reading my profile and you maybe get a clearer answer than this (sorry tryed my best >.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think this quote from Daniel Boorstin sums it up quite well: “The traveler was active, he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him.”

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Im totally into this personal DJ... They call him "The Spotify". No matter where Im currently at, in the roaler coaster of emotions, there is always a playlist to shuffle. Most of the times its some main stream stuff though (someone in the audience screams: "lame!!").
Movies: Boy. You can really get me with horror movies or those, where the end is like totally open and twisted, so that it makes you sit like another thirty minutes infront of a black screen. Shutter Island for example! How ever... Now that Im in Japan Im trying to get a litte into the Anime sceene too. If you have like a personal juwel that you totally love... Pls... Tell me!
Books: Its really bee a while, since I read my last book... Uff... (Acctually its quite depressing) In former days how ever its mostly been scientific literature about programming and cryptography. I also realy liked Walter Moers "The City of Dreaming Books".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some months ago, I went outside of our house... My live has changed since then ;p
What I Can Share with Hosts
Oh boy... That is though... How about, we invert the question! ;p Well... Lets see... Then it is by far not cooking. Never leve me alone with a stove... Im trying to learn though how this black magic works. So if you got a recipe, how about we try to nail it in an awesome cooking battle together?
