About Me
Hi!
My name is Raabia and I am a travelholic. An independent filmmaker and photography.
I am very easy person to talk with and very outgoing.
I was born Deaf and I have been Deaf all of my life. Being Deaf is no big deal, and feels very natural to me, much the same way having brown hair, brown eyes, etc feels natural to me.
I do not live in a world of silence. My world is full of colour and great visuals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting new people and exchange the knowledge that benefits us.
Finding fun things to do outside, getting outside of my comfort zone and doing something new.
Getting involved in a new hobby, taking a class that makes me stretch my mind, or just making a point to do something different than the usual are all good ways to connect with someone new.
Interests
As for me, when it comes to outdoor adventures, I’m far from the most experienced or the most adventurous, but that doesn’t stop me from seeking it out. Whether I’m hiking, camping, cycle and hunting down great photography spots, I love to push myself physically and mentally. It’s truly amazing what our human bodies can do.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Godfather a great film, even a masterpiece; Godfather II almost as great (and part of a saga with the first); and Godfather III a merely above-average film.
The Alchemist is the best book I've ever read! It is short and captivant.... it has something that made me to think, to open my eyes about everything like an answer that I really need it. It is a book about following your dreams and how you can follow them and make them true.
This is a book for everyone's soul!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Volunteering in Kenya for 4 months.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach British Sign Language (BSL), the things about the Deaf community and Deaf people.
What is Deaf Culture? Deaf people as a linguistic minority have a common experience of life, and this manifests itself in Deaf culture. This includes beliefs, attitudes, history, norms, values, literary traditions, and art shared by Deaf people.
