About Me

SURFERS NOTE: I don't accept generic requests. My idea of couchsurfing is to meet interesting people, not to offer a free accommodation to anybody who arrives tomorrow night and leaves on the next morning. Please ask at least 1 week in advance.

I like language(s), sustainability, housing cooperatives, cooking, politics, books, the color green, and a couple of other things. What I do for a living is course management at VHS Zurich. I enjoy talking about things rather than talking about people, although I am quite sociable. I am always interested in learning new things and getting in contact with people from other cultures and subcultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the beginning I think I simply liked Couchsurfing because it was cheap and exciting. I still do! Meantime I also got into a bit into alternative economies, especially into commoning and cooperatives, so now there is a bit more theoretical background to it. And it's nice to learn about new places from the people who live there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ach, verschiedenes. Still being in love after 20 years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't think there are a lot of things that can be thoroughly learned during a short trip abroad. Languages or rather pieces of languages are one such thing (I have some in store, see above, and I like to learn new ones). I can also teach you how to cook some dishes - Bavarian, Swiss, Japanese, Nepali...
I know some things about Zurich, so I can show you around and tell you a bit about the city's history. If you like to delve in a bit deeper, I can offer focus tours on cooperative housing, bathing culture, and food.
