About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to meet interesting people, have good conversation, and learn more about the world through the people I meet and the places I visit.
Interests
I studied cognitive science and art history, so I like museums about technology/media, art galleries, and other music/art/media/culture things. I write a bit, code a bit and cook great vegan food. I like making community radio and listening to music. I love good beer and thrifting!
I love to dance. I was trained in ballet, jazz, tap, for 10 years growing up and have taken classes in a bunch of other styles like dancehall, Indian classical, and hip hop. I haven't tried a dance style I didn't like -- always open to go dancing or learn a new style!

Music, Movies, and Books
Netflix tells me my preferred microgenres are Deadpan Comedies, Understated Hidden Gems, and Soapy TV Shows Featuring a Strong Female Lead. A few I've enjoyed lately: The Lobster, Boyhood, The Source Family, Seven Up series, Iris, Grand Budapest Hotel, Amy, Tangerine, Finding Vivian Maier, Casting JonBenet, Adaptation, Ladybird, Shape of Water, Get Out, Okja. TV: Twin Peaks, Jane the Virgin, Lady Dynamite, Freaks and Geeks, Love, Portlandia, Baronnes Von Sketch Show, Broad City, Fawlty Towers, Mad Men.
Some books I've enjoyed recently: Bluets by Maggie Nelson; White Teeth by Zadie Smith; and The Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante.
I listen mostly to pop, rock, and experimental music. I am really digging Janelle Monae and SZA these days and I love classic country (Bob Wills, Patsy Cline, Ernest Tubb, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, etc).
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a little about a lot of things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to cook a big meal for everyone and discuss culture and society over a bottle of wine.
