Hello - I'm Rachel from the United States. I work as a CPA professional in NYC. Although, I spend a vast majority of my time at the office, I love to find time for traveling and for outdoor activities. My passion for traveling developed while I was in college, when I went abroad for school in Firenze, Italia.

I'm an easy going, neat, and friendly person. I enjoy learning new things and am always opened to any discussion!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have visited over 15 countries and have been blessed to be welcomed into many homes on my journeys. Some of my fondest travel memories were in Italy when I stayed with a host family for 4 months. Learning the language, culture, and how to cook the authentic food was a life changing experience.

From my experience, I believe traveling is one of the best educators. As Mark Twain said, “Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all of one’s lifetime.” The beautiful thing about traveling is the experiences you share with the people you meet on your journey. For this reason, I joined Couchsurfing to keep following my passion to explore more places and cultures in the world.

Interests

Traveling and learning other cultures, hiking, figure skating, cooking and enjoying new foods, exploring historic places and castles, drinking wine, etc. I am always opened to trying or learning new hobbies.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I listen to all music (I have preferences but I listen to actually all music just depends on my mood).

Movies - There are too many, so I can't say I have a favorite one. However, "My Cousin Vinny" has a lot of good memories and inside jokes with my family so that is a film I have watched a lot.

Books - You can usually find me reading poetry almost every day.
