My name is Rachel, and I currently reside in Providence, Rhode Island, where I teach high school English.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I grew up in a military family, and moved around a lot as a kid- I'd like to think that's when the travel bug initially bit, but I didn't really start traveling internationally until college, when I could fund it myself. Funding travel myself led to staying primarily in hostels, which led to me realizing that one of the best parts of seeing the world is meeting other people who are doing the same thing. Many of those people recommended couchsurfing, so- here I am.

A few points you should know- it's tough for me to host on weekdays because of my work schedule. Feel free to request, but odds aren't great. Also our apartment can get a bit chilly, so if you have access to a sweatshirt, I would recommend bringing it!
