About Me

I'm from the U.S. but I moved to Australia on a work/holiday visa in May 2015. I left my corporate HR job to travel. I was studying wine and living life as a nomad. After my Australia visa ended, I came home to the states. I just moved to Northern California to work at a winery in Napa in August 2016. I live in San Francisco now and still work in the wine industry.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm always interested in making new friends. I want to learn about your culture and your story! I also did an amazing road trip through Couch Surfing, so it's a really cool website. I originally joined, though, because I need somewhere to stay while I'm traveling other than hostels because the costs are really adding up. I am seeing that there are WAY more benefits to it than that, though! Once I have a permanent home somewhere, I will definitely welcome couch surfers!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my travel and personal development experiences as I continue this adventure. I have a blog about what I'm doing: http://rachescapes.com

I love hearing other people's stories and learning about new cultures. My favorite way to learn is through experience.
