Hi, I'm Rachel. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada,
New to this whole travelling thing, but already been in many different countries in the last year and plan on adding as many as I can to the list!

I'm taking geology in university and it is my passion, I probably never stop talking about it. Also a bit of a nerd for linguistics and slavic languages. School isn't the worst way to kill time between travels!

I love meeting locals and hearing what they think is the best thing to do around town, and a language barrier has never scared me before. Always excited to see what the world has to offer me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing because I pay for everything myself, my rent, my school, and my travels! So that means I have to be frugal. On top of that, I would much rather prefer to have someone who knows the city I'm visiting be able to tell me they're favourite best kept secrets and tips and tricks of the city!

I also want to be able to give back to travellers, I love hosting people but I get so many requests from people who don't even put in the time an effort to write a personalized message.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love all kinds of hip hop, r&b, rap, pop, among other stuff!! I love fun cartoon shows, such as Bob's Burgers and The Simpsons. Comedy movies are the best, but I love watching all of the critically acclaimed!

Really been into Russian classics lately. This year I've read Lolita, Fathers and Sons, and Crime and Punishment. I always have to read the 'iconic' books!
