About Me

Environmental Science Major @ Barnard College
/Columbia University

I grew up outside of San Francisco and have called NYC home for the past two school years. I’ve also spent a summer volunteering in Costa Rica, and another in Paraguay when I was in high school. Off to study abroad in Panama this fall then on to Colombia for a month... I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to do it a decent amount.

Growing up, my Girl Scout troop went camping several times a year, then I was a camp counselor for a summer in the Sierra Nevadas (Yosemite is in this mountain range if you’re not familiar). I love spending time outdoors hiking, backpacking, creek wading, kayaking—or crawling through caves (which I’ve done on a field geology class to Barbados and at Moaning Caverns back when I was a Girl Scout camper myself).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it’s rewarding to meet new people, learn about their backgrounds, and grow from the experience.

I’m also a college student, so this seems to be the perfect time to expand my horizons.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Princess Bride, Forrest Gump

I’ll listen to almost anything but I’m particularly fond of Paloma Faith.

Enjoyed recently: The Underground Railroad, Pachinko, Homegoing...I don’t read as much as I used to but I always want book recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent the night in two different aquariums (SF, Monterey Bay)
