About Me

I've spent this past summer traveling in the UK and northern France as well as working in West Texas and Colorado. I am in the process of moving to Germany, but before I do I’m visiting Italy for a week. I’m really interested in languages and I love travel for the people I get to know. This far I’ve only had really positive experiences with Couchsurfing and have made some amazing friends. I’ll be an English teacher in Germany and I hope to be able to host people and gain better knowledge of the language while I’m there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the mentality on this site. I have made some fabulous friends and still talk to them and I just love the idea of exploring a place with someone who understands it. I think travel is very personal and if you go somewhere and don't really try and understand the people and only want to look at pretty building and try new foods (while it's still a lot of fun) you miss out on really experiencing a place.

Interests

I have been backpacking a couple times in Colorado, worked with kids at outdoor camps, I was a sailing instructor at another summer camp.
I would love to hike the Appalachian Trail in the states one day it takes a few months, and travel everywhere.
I love rock climbing it's like a puzzle to figure out the best way to scale a rock.

Music, Movies, and Books

Harry Potter, Mumford & Sons, Disney

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked in the Rocky Mountains.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could talk for hours about books, and places to go, and people I've met, I also know a bit about history and archaeology. I studied medieval already culture in university. I think I enjoy history because I like to challenge the ways people think about people in the past and the nature of humanity.
I can also teach you how to bake an American pie, I've taught English before and maybe teach you a few German phrases and tell you about traveling in the States or in Germany.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bake and tell stories about how crazy Texas is and teach German. I love to explore and get lost in cities and I think I'm a fairly easy person to be around.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Mexico, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Germany, United States
