About Me
After finally graduating from university I knew one thing and one thing only, that i wanted to travel. I've been lucky enough that for the last 2 years, on and off, i have been able to travel around Europe. Working odd jobs and volunteering for my keep, always travelling on a tight budget with just my backpack.
I'm friendly and open minded, and want to spend time with my hosts as well as time to myself to explore. I'm most happy outside, moving around. Then when the evening comes, gather around a table to eat, drink and talk tales of adventures...past, present and future.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My past adventures have involved volunteering in Czech Republic, snowboarding and hiking in my free time. Working 9 months in Portugal at a beach side cafe, learning to surf (and failing miserably!). I have also volunteered at a rock climbing BnB in El Chorro, South Spain, something i would recommend to any climber!! And spent several weeks travelling in South France with a good friend of mine, Delia (also a fellow couch surfer), enjoying a mixture of mountains and lakes, cities and bustling crowds - none of which would have been possible without those who offered us a place to stay, a car to ride in, and a meal to share. These people took us in and shared a small part of their life with us. Something i am eternally grateful for.
This is why i'm on couch surfing. To meet people like this. Who want to share their stories and offer something small but which means so much. To meet people who i can learn and grow from, and who may hopefully learn and grow from me.
