About Me

I'm born and raised in Durham, NC but have been lucky enough to travel explore the world with my family and one my own. I value connection and compassion for all beings and am always down for good convos and grand ventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to be able to travel with a small budget, learn new things, meet new people, live life differently, and have new experiences. The best way to experience and really get to know a place is to know the people that live there. I have come to realize the value meeting new people wherever I go and think couch surfing is one way to facilitate those connections.

Interests

Connecting with people and places from all over is such an amazing experience and is my motivation for learning in general but specifically languages and cultures. I love thinking about life and sharing perspectives on ways to live it. My gap year travels took my to many grand places and taught me many of the skills I know, namely juggling and making arepas :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Reggae, folk, jazz, indie, Cumbia, salsa, Latin, rap. I'm always looking for new music so am open to almost anything.

I like any movie that isn't scary or gory.

I'm into books that make me think, teach me new things, and entertain my imagination. Recently vibed with Braiding Sweet grass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: maintained the section of the PCT that runs through Crater Lake National Park.
Seen: an osprey drop a rodent into the talons of another osprey mid flight.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to throw a frisbee, juggle, play ukulele, or make a drainage on a trail. I want to learn anything you have to teach. Let's share stories about life and it's many wonderous experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cleaning, fresh arepas, yard work, doing the dishes, good vibes, and appreciation of the little things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Italy, Peru, Switzerland
