About Me
Hi! I'm Rachel and I live in Brooklyn
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine
Unfortunately, traveling can be quite costly and alienating, especially in places where you don't speak the language or know anyone. Hopefully Couchsurfers can help me cut costs while building meaningful relationships and life-long friendships with people from all over the world. I look forward to sharing my culture and experiences with you all, and learning about yours!
Interests
I love baking, cooking, reading, watching movies, biking, hiking, volunteering, and exploring. I love planning trips during times that I can't travel, and I really enjoy reading about and observing different cultures!
Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite TV shows:
The Travel Bug, Arrested Development, Parks & Recreation, Friends, 30 Rock
Favorite movies:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Elizabethtown, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Spirited Away (and pretty much everything else Studio Ghibli), Fight Club
Favorite books:
Catcher in the Rye, This Side of Paradise, Sherlock Holmes, or any travel book/guide
Favorite music:
All of it. Seriously. I listen to all genres!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped break the Guinness World Record to end hunger! I was one of the volunteers that helped pack nearly 2,000 weekend food packs for Arizona children without access to food on the weekends - all under 3 minutes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook and clean, for sure! I love cooking and I'm super useful around the house. I also tutor math, if you ever need help with that (if you're studying for an exam, have kids who are struggling with it, etc). I also love building relationships and would love to hear about you and your life, and would be happy to share my stories as well!
