About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience new places and cultures authentically and responsibly, hopefully having a positive impact on the people I meet and places I visit

ABOUT ME

I am a photographer who loves to travel, but I don't see myself as a tourist. I visit places hoping to have authentic experiences of culture and nature, rather than simply consuming every must-do and must-see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love traveling and learning about culture from locals. I think the best way to get to know a place is to get to know the people that live there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only couchsurfed twice so far, but I love the idea of it and I am hoping to add many experiences in the future!

Interests

I like: books, cameras, nature, landscape photography, tea, NPR, thought-provoking movies, bird-watching, reusing & recycling, learning languages, literary "tourism", Ansel Adams, maps, flags, Impressionist paintings, Khan Academy, roadtrips, becoming friends with people of other cultures, small surprises (good ones!), Jane Austen, hiking, ecotourism, camping, wilderness, organized chaos, small towns, visiting art museums, board games, food from other countries, lightning storms, mountains, wine, elephants, riding trains & going to new places, whether near or far.

Seeing a leopard up close in Saint Lucia, South Africa :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can offer to hosts a *hopefully* hassle free and fun stay! We clean up after ourselves and are completely willing to be flexible or help out. We love hearing about other people's adventures, so hopefully we can also offer some good listening and sharing of our own stories.

Unfortunately we cannot host others right now because we are living in a small apartment :( But, we hope to be able to welcome people from around the world someday when we have a bigger place!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahrain, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Dominican Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Jamaica, Lesotho, Mexico, Scotland, South Africa, Swaziland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Vatican City State, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Africa, United States
