About Me

1. I'm lazy
2. Too lazy to fill out personality forms
3. And to punctuate
4. I'd rather you meet me and find out anyway ;)
5. But if I had to say some stuff:

My friends mostly know me as the gin and trees girl, but my close friends know that I am much, much more. I also like rum.

Uhhhh I'm so bad at this, I just don't know what to write. Please do ask me questions instead. I'm a very comfortable, laid-back person, and my friends say I'm good at making others feel at ease. I like to laugh (and also cry), and I live for doing fun, noisy things, but I also like quietude and meditation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best part of travelling is getting to know the destination through its locals and get past the sight-seeing veneer, and meet other travellers. I love the exchange of perspective, and getting out of my tiny Singaporean circle is like a breath of fresh air.

Interests

Nature, hiking, freediving, slacklining, star-gazing, reading, bartending, painting, hanging out with friends, filling out lengthy profiles on couchsurfing....

Music, Movies, and Books

Lord of the Rings all time favourite book. I read avidly, but I mostly don't keep track of what I read so it's hard for me to say without some kind of specific trigger or reminder. The same goes for my music, though lately I've been into electronic folk, tropic house, bollywood and chinese instrumentals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Convinced my little brother that when pigs mate with bushes they give birth to hedgehogs.

Freedived in an underwater museum in the Canary Islands (Museo Atlantico, in Lanzarote, highly recommend!)
Went skydiving in Madrid.
Whitewater rafting down the Tongariro river, New Zealand.
Went on a herbal hike with a German botanist who approached me the day before while I was drawing ducks by the river - am now very interested in herbals!
Had a meal with an NFL coach who gave me an entire pizza, he was so so nice.
Hitch-hiked with a really nice elderly man in Lanzarote, who told me his love story and taught me Spanish numbers over a 2 hour ride)
Hiking in the Black Forest, Germany. Took an alpine roller coaster there.
Star-gazing in Chiang Mai (so beautiful!)
Slacklined with rasta boys in Geneva, who later invited me to their "free price" bar for a jazz concert.
Sat on a rock surrounded by waterfalls and trees in the French Alps, improvising music with American friends.
Drank cider and watched the sunset on the peak of a mountain in South Africa.
