About Me

Raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains! I love plants, herbal medicine, the Black Lives Matter movement, LGBTQIA* equality, discussions on mental health and wellbeing, and animals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Good people giving freely is lovely; glad to be a part of the community.

Interests

Psychology, people, animals, strangers who wave, plant identification, social justice, tart pies.

I don't often drink, and I enjoy solitude in the evenings to fully take in the day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked with leatherback sea turtles while they laid their eggs. Had the task of putting my head in the hole to count them as they popped out. Hard work for those ladies to get all that work done. Beautiful moments.

Teach, Learn, Share

Share:
I have a food intolerance to alliums (onion, garlic, shallots, etc.). If you're familiar with low-fodmap cooking, then I'd be thrilled to learn more about things you enjoy preparing.

Teach:
Bats and raccoons purr when they are happy! Raccoons make biscuits with their hands when they are feeling safe, happy, and cozy. Cow milk provided by well-intentioned amateur rescuers is damaging to orphaned animals. For example, raccoons develop a degenerative bone disease when fed this type of milk. Thus, it's really important to contact local animal rescuers (or a local animal hospital for referrals to a good one) about orphaned and injured wildlife.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A sunny disposition and help around the home as needed. I'm running a blank on what all I can share, but I am open to inquiring minds and requests.

Countries I’ve Visited
