About Me

In May 2017 I went backpacking around Europe with a friend of mine and we Couchsurfed together almost the whole time (see Sydney Burns' profile for our references. Also Sam Gottlieb's). I love being outdoors year-round and regularly go hiking, biking, rock climbing, play hockey, and ski. My summer favorites are kayaking and ultimate frisbee. I also enjoy the discovery process of meeting new people. I spent 2017-2018 living in Germany going to the university in Tuebingen and I absolutely adore it there. Right now I'm back in Alaska finishing my bachelor degree in Aviation Technology, planning on being an Alaskan Bush Pilot someday soon.

When I'm not in classes or at my full-time job, I spend many hours every week in our local Brazilian Jui Jitsu gym. I'm still a white belt but am constantly showing up to the mat to run through routines.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My biggest reasons for traveling are to share memories with new people. I hope couchsurfing can allow me another method to do that while also finding a place to recharge at night. I always love the opportunity to have my host show me their favorite spots or give recommendations on good food and scenery.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was raised on classic rock, but a love for jazz music has taken ahold of my heart. I hope when I'm finished with my undergrad I can spend more time learning how to play jazz music on my guitar and piano.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I work at a fish camp on an island in Alaska during the summer, and bike to work and college classes in Alaska through the winter. This kind of lifestyle takes a lot of grit and perseverance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughs and good vibes all around! I love to be involved and engaged when things are going on, but I am also independent and can give my host their space when they are busy with their lives :)
