Overview
About Me
Hi my name is Rachel. I am from the States, but have been living abroad for the past few years. I served in Morocco as a Peace Corps Volunteer (2014-2016) in a rural village in the northeast. Afterwards I went to Edinburgh Scotland to complete a masters. I grew up near Chicago, but my parents live near Atlanta now. I love meeting new people and exploring new places, especially with locals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel and meet locals for a more authentic and all around good experience in new places. I have mostly traveled alone so I enjoy being able to meet new people in a less crowded environment than say a hostel.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am open to listening to most genres of music. Right now my favourites are Yuna, Oum, most 90's genres, Santana, Florence + The Machine, Young the Giant, Swet Shop Boys...
I LOVE to read. I mostly read nonfiction, but will enjoy the occasional fiction book. I read mostly nonfiction related to sociology, current events, and women's studies.
I don't watch movies as often as I used to. I am not a huge action fan, and I have to be in a certain mood to watch it. I enjoy movies based on true or historical events. RomComs (mostly older ones) are a favourite of mine. Off the top of my head the movies I have enjoyed the most lately have been V for Vendetta, Monty Python and the Holy Grail (old but SO good), and Get Out.
