About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Europe!
ABOUT ME
I'm free-spirited, analytical and open-minded. I say yes to wild, crazy and spontaneous. I love adventure and living without restrictions.
I use mobility aids (usually crutches) to walk now after an serious accident I had while last year in 2014. While I was living and scuba diving on the island of Roatan, Honduras I jumped into the sea from quite a height only to land on a very shallow sand bar. I shattered my ankles beyond full repair. It hasn't kept me down, though, and I have managed several trips since in the US, Mexico and Cuba and now I am going to Europe!
PHILOSOPHY
Right now is what you have. So have it, live it.
Note: This is what i'd written before leaving on my last trip which ended in the devastating injury. I believe it now more than ever . I am so glad that I was doing what I loved when I had my accident. I didn't hesitate, and I have no regrets :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to use couchsurfing to meet people and make connections in the new places I'll be traveling to! To stay with if and when possible (I'm traveling on an extremely low budget) or just to meet up!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed many times unofficially. Staying with and hosting travel friends and friends of travel friends and families of people you meet on the road. We've got to look out for each other! I would like to use this site to help connect me with even more people!
Interests
I'm up for pretty much everything. I think the best reason to go out and do something is if you've never done it before!!
Scuba diving, caving (I love everything about caves) all the outdoorsy stuff, reading, video games, board games, visiting museums and trying new food and drink are just a few things I've been up to lately.

Music, Movies, and Books
At the moment i'm really into fantasy literature. Patrick Rothfuss and Terry Pratchett are some of my current favorites.
I love traditional Trova music. It's one of the reasons I went to Cuba!
I'm into a lot of shows but I really get into the dark and intense ones like Game of Thrones and House of Cards.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know how I can pick just one! What's more amazing? Cave diving? Swimming with hundreds of Whale Sharks? Falling in love in the rural Mayan highlands of Guatemala?
I can think of sooo many things! But perhaps the biggest was my recent refusal to accept defeat or disability. I have continued to travel solo after losing my former mobility and work after the accident.
Teach, Learn, Share
Maybe one of the weirdest thing I could teach you about it everything there is to know about breeding and showing rabbits and cavies. I also know quite a bit about horses, endurance racing and competitive trail riding.
I grew up on a self-sustaining farm though, so there's probably a lot of weird things I could teach you like how to make soap.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer my friendship, networking and a connection for any future trips they might like to take! I can share interesting conversation and unique perspectives.
