About Me
I'm extroverted, talkative, a bit chaotic and often forgetful, but always a bundle of joy!!
I'm full of endless curiosity and spontaneity, I love meeting new people and asking ten billion questions, I love hearing stories and getting to know different cultures. I love learning about anything and everything.
I have endless interests and want to learn new hobbies all the time. Unfortunately I tend to start projects and don't finish half of them, but I'm always full of a million ideas and thoughts. Classic ADHD, the 24/7 mind 🤣
Travelling has helped me realise that there is so much good in the world, and that almost all people, when given the right circumstances, want to be kind and do right by people. Those who can't are usually backed into a corner of poverty and entrenched disadvantage, and if we were in similar circumstances we would probably do the same.
Travelling has made made me much more compassionate, made me realise the enormous privilege I have and that I want to give back to the community by paying small kindnesses forward that I can.
It's shifted my wounded cynicism into a hopeful faith in the world.
'When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'
— Fred Rogers
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was in Prague on exchange in 2020 one month before COVID hit and Australia essentially closed its borders, so I backpacked Europe from 2020-2022 - despite COVID they were the best 2 years of my life!!
I've returned home to Australia now. I love all the fun experiences I've had meeting people on couchsurfing and all the stories I get to hear from other travellers. CS makes me feel like I'm travelling even when I'm at home!
I also love the hangouts function and I use it regularly when travelling. Sometimes it's a hit and sometimes it's a miss, but I've never regretted it!
I love meeting people who speak different languages (I’m just a bit into linguistics hehe).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Minimal/melodic techno is my jam. Audio Obscura style - Fideles, Adriatique, Ben Bohmer, to name a few.
I also love ballads I can karaoke to, hehe (mostly Lady Gaga cos my register is quite deep).
Movies:
Every single Studio Ghibli movie ever. Especially Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Laputa Castle in the Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke.
Some of the most moving and powerful social commentary themes I've resonated with, ever. And the hand illustration of every single scene, the attention to details, is outstanding.
Also, the perfect symmetry and pastel tones and whimsical storylines of Wes Anderson movies have me nostalgically obsessed. I can't get over The Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom.
Books:
Neuroscience and psychology books. My absolute favourite book of all time is A General Theory of Love. Scientific yet lyrical at the same time, it had me sobbing at many parts.
Another favourite is The Body Keeps the Score. A fascinating look at how our bodies respond to trauma, and how we can heal in connection to other humans.
This technically isn't a book, but my favourite blog ever is The Marginalian (formerly know as Brainpickings). She eloquently and poetically summarises classic outstanding books and essays that stand the test of time. It has immensely extended the reach of my mind and I am forever grateful.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'll never forget the hot air balloon sunrise I saw over Cappadocia, Turkey. One of the most ethereal experiences ever.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you about the endless chaotic stories I've had which I don't know how I made it out in one piece 😂
What I Can Share with Hosts
Perks of hosting me: I’m also an above-average cook and I love cooking Asian amongst other things. I will definitely cook you a thank you dinner or we can cook together 🥳
I can also entertain you with wild travel stories thanks to the chaos of my ADHD, but I always make it out alive (I'm like a cat with 9 lives).
I also love having intellectual and political debates (that may be a pro or con depending on your preferences 😆)
