ABOUT ME

I am an outgoing, fun-loving country girl with lots of spirit. I enjoying doing things out of the ordinary and experiencing "ordinary" life in new places. I have been told I am a very patient and kind person, but I feel those are two traits that can always be worked on. Nobody is ever "too" patient, at least not in my book!

Interests

I love kids of all ages, especially middle schoolers. I never though I would say that, but my heart just goes out to them. I remember just how rough that time of life can be and it is ever harder in modern times. I love to teach as well, which is probably why I love teaching. Kids, learning, and success all wrapped in one! I also love being outdoors camping and hiking, and learning new skills. Recently I have picked up canning and making my own pasta. Small steps in a big world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Awestruck moments: When I first landed in my village in Alaska I was in wonder. Here am I on a little corner of the earth and I felt like I just touched down in heaven. It is odd to know that this tiny town is where I will be spending the majority of my time over the next year. But it is so absolutely breathtaking! Another moment was this past summer when I was in Hungary. There were fireworks over the river in Szeged during a bridge festival and it was...inspirational to put it lightly. There is something about being so far from home, but still feeling connected to the world through tradition, and just being human.
