ABOUT ME

I am a very easy-going traveller. I am a little shy at first, but I love meeting new people and getting to know them. I'm also pretty self-sufficient and am perfectly happy to be shown the couch and left to my own devices if that's what you prefer. I traveled around working on tall ships for several years, and have some good sea stories from that time. Now I live near Portland, Oregon and am enrolled in a masters degree program in elementary special education.

Interests

I love to get outdoors and hike, kayak, or anything else. I also crochet occasionally, and sometimes make glass mosaics. When I'm in a new city or somewhere I haven't been in a while, I often like best just to wander the streets for a day or two and take things in. I love seeing new places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing place to me is the middle of the ocean. I have been about as far from land as it is possible to be on this globe, and I love it more than anywhere else. On a calm day, the water looks like a mirror, even thousands of miles from land. It is like floating in a very large bathtub, it is so calm. Within a matter of hours it can go from that to something entirely different. No matter what, it is amazing.
