Overview
About Me
Hello there,
I'm Rachel (but some people call me Ronnie) a Norfolk lass, England who has been living in London for the past 8 years. I'm seeking out to learn new and exciting things along my journey, currently finishing my children's yoga certificate, learning Hindi and looking to expand my creative skill set and create wonderful things with wonderful people along my journey.
I love being around children and expanding their minds with as much goodness, creativity and fun as possible. I enjoy storytelling and hearing stories. I like to see the opportunities that lie in everything and everyone, I have a strong fascination and passion in making a difference to others through conversation, design, creativity and film, my aim is to inspire and create change, whether on a small scale or as part of the bigger picture.
I feel Couchsurfing is a great platform to meet local people, experience local traditions and culture. Have a blast with new friends and old friends and make some memories along the way.

Interests
- I love all live music but especially enjoy the blues.
- I like to go swing dancing to help with my two left feet.
- Big foodie and love experimenting in the kitchen. (Big fan of all Asian & Indian food especially after spending a lot of time there)
- I find so much joy being close to nature and wildlife.
- I like to be a part of a community when I travel and dive in with local activities, traditions and culture. Whether it's the language, art, yoga, hiking, babysitting, anything! I'll be happy to dive in with open arms.
- I find vacuuming and gardening very therapeutic (although ironing I have a small hatred for and ants seem to like to nibble at my toes, not at the Same time as ironing though!) ;)
- My nickname 'Ronnie' started when I was at high school, and my clumsy comedic nature influenced a few others to nickname me after the British Comedic duo 'the two ronnies'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helping others achieve...
/Helping create and nurture young minds through creativity, alternative education and creating immersive 'jungle yoga' workshops, art therapy workshops and 'recycling monsters' sessions. Working with children with autism & behavioural needs we became West Norfolk's 'Team of the Year 2016'!!! Which I feel is one of my best achievements to date as I truly felt like I made a diffence to their future education, social and emotional growth.
A stunning sight...
/Rajasthani desert, India - Sleeping under the stars with a shepherd surrounded by cows, definitely had my fair share of smelly gases and odd noises during the night but hey it was one of the best night sleep I've ever had. Safe amongst the herd, drifting asleep I'd never seen so many stars and waking up with the sunrise rolling over the dunes. Something that will always stick in my mind.
Being a part of a huge team...
/Being a part of the London 2012 Olympics and helping to make it the best possible. Felt great pride being a part of something big and loved being amongst the happiness and buzz of it all.
Teach, Learn, Share
/I may not be a Michelin star chef, but as your doing me the kindess of offering a couch then the least I can do is cook you good hearty meal!
/I change my hair colour and hair styles on a regular basis as I love to experiment especially in vintage 1940's/50s hair do's so ladies I could give it a whirl on you if you fancy. Guys I could give you a slick quiff or killer mohawk!! (I used to sport one a while back with a half shaved head!)
