CURRENT MISSION
To enjoy life!
ABOUT ME
I'm in school right now but I am very passionate about traveling and meeting new people, exploring new cultures and broadening my horizons. I love philosophizing about life and enjoy stimulating conversations. I am also a very active person and enjoy spending time in the outdoors (I love hiking and I live for the mountains). I'm a pretty outgoing and optimistic person who tries to make the most of life and everything it has to offer. :)
PHILOSOPHY
I like to think that we are free and responsible to live the lives that we choose and that it's ultimately up to us to determine the way we live. Although we all live in different countries and have been through different experiences, we're all ultimately human beings who are very much shaped by our circumstance and I think we have much to learn from each other. The world is a beautiful place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting, surfing, community events.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I think that couchsurfing is a fantastic idea. It is a new ideology for traveling as you get to experience the culture and the city as more of a local rather than a tourist. You make friends and get a much deeper appreciation for the city.
I also do not treat CSing as a hotel- I think it is a great opportunity for cultural exchange.
Above all, my favourite thing is that there is just something is special about people in this community. I'm always reminded of that joie de vivre and the spontaneity and discovery that makes life so special.
Interests
Philosophy, psychology, pilates, yoga, biking, hiking, good wine, good food, good conversation, beers of the world (I like ales and stouts), photography, film, reading, writing, learning. I have an ever-growing scotch collection (I'm a fan of the peatier ones).

Music, Movies, and Books
Some writers that have really influenced me are: Virginia Woolf, Ayn Rand, T.S. Eliot, John Keats, Marshall McLuhan, George Orwell, D.H. Lawrence, Freud, Jung and Oscar Wilde, to name a few.My favourite movies: Little Miss Sunshine, Fight Club, Waking Life and my childhood favourite, The Mighty Duck sMusic: I think my tastes are rather eclectic! I love live music and mostly listen to indie, but I'm fairly open.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think some of us enjoy traveling and new experiences so much often take for granted how many of these amazing things can take place in our ordinary lives. I've seen some pretty spectacular sunsets in my hometown and I've had many amazing experiences just being around friends and family.
Travelwise, I think riding a camel and sleeping in bedouin tents in the Erg Chebbi dunes of Morocco was such a lovely sight, as was walking the Swiss Alps, meandering in Ubud, Bali, and also perhaps tasting Guinness in the factory in Dublin. I also hitchhiked from England to Morocco for charity one time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think life is a work in progress, really, or perhaps an evolution of some sort. I also think that we are always trying to create a meaningful life for ourseleves. Everyone has a unique perspective based on their own personal experiences so I think that sharing and trying to understand other peoples' stories is one of the best things we can do.
