ABOUT ME

I graduated from the University of North Carolina with a double major in Global Studies and French. I just got back from a 7-month teaching assistant program in Agen, France and am now living and working in the Charlotte area. I love learning from different people and have been shown too much hospitality throughout my life, so I really want to pay it forward and show some hospitality in turn.

PHILOSOPHY

Pay it forward.

I don't care if it's cliché but treat others as you'd like to be treated; I really don't understand the point in being rude or inconsiderate and have no patience for it.

I have been able to host about 3 times and hope to be able to do so more !

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosted in Amsterdam, Nice, Paris, and Bayonne all of which were awesome, pleasant experiences. Each time showed me what it takes to be a good host and helped me really get to know where I was staying. I can only keep learning !

Interests

I love learning things about psychology and about relationships between people/the world. I enjoy reading (especially historical fiction or fantasy - I'm a nerd :]) and do so whenever I can. I like movies, but it's a little inconsistent as to what sorts I like; I either like one or I don't. I love French and French culture and feel so blessed to have had two opportunities to live there. The more I'm exposed to this place the more I love it, even the quirky things that might bother other people. I have a love/hate relationship with running; I go through phases where I'm super motivated and go everyday and others where I don't go for over a week. However, I love 5ks and would maybe want to try a half-marathon one day if I can convince myself I wouldn't die! I like to go out and such but can't handle it super often. I'm a huge history buff and am fascinated to learn about any place/event/person etc. I love being introduced to new music but I tend to suck at finding it on my own. The more places I get to in my life, the better!

Music, Movies, and Books

I was raised on the Beatles and anything 60-70sish but I like a little of everything - my tastes are all over the place! I still watch cartoons and when I have time to watch a movie I will most likely choose a Disney or some sort of kids' movie.
