About Me

CURRENT MISSION

making dinner..for you?

ABOUT ME
I am just coming back to the couchsurfing community after taking a few years to focus on graduate school when I wasn't traveling or living in a place where I could host. I just moved back to my hometown of Portland and am looking forward to having couchsurfing adventures once again!

I like thoughtful alternatives and connecting with other people. I have lived mostly in Portland, the Hawaiian islands, northern Minnesota, Olympia, and Madison, WI exploring various communities and facets of conservation biology.

I aim to be a positive, enthusiastic, and respectful force in the world, and would love to meet up with you for a beverage, conversation, walk, or an adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

What makes you happy?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are so many wonderful people in the world, couchsurfing helps them meet each other.

Interests

Walking, fungi, alpine meadows, music and people who like making it, cooking and community meals, wild plants and growing plants, questions that have and don't have answers, hard questions, easy questions, challenges, bikes and buses, tea and pillows, geology, non-competitive games, learning, fresh air, foods of all sorts, rainforests, respect, and new situations.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have enjoyed many books, including: Annals of the Former World, An American Childhood, Mrs. Dalloway, Geek Love, On Food and Cooking, Cloud Atlas, and Angle of Repose.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen some pretty magnificent forests and mountains. I want to see more, while they still exist.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to cook, from bread, soup, and mead to curries, flan, and granola. I'm also in love with plants and love talking about natural history. I would love to learn how to make injera, how to clog, and more about whatever you are passionate about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Respect, conversations, foods of all sorts, clean-up efforts, and many other things as they are useful or wanted!

Countries I’ve Visited
