About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Surf, dance tango, make friends...
ABOUT ME
I am an adventure junkie and have a relentless apetite for travel and learning...mainly because I feel like I know so little compared to what's out there.
I've lived mainly in London, and have spent the last 4 years living in Granada, Spain...and exploring Latin America, couchsurfing, volunteering and adventuring.
I think I've finally satisfied my curiosity, temporarily cured my travel bug, and am really excited to be back in London. Being in one place brings different kinds of adventures and opportunities.... who am I kidding?! haha well London is fun, but this curiosity and adventure hunger will be with me forever so I best get used to it.
PHILOSOPHY
"The man who finds his homeland sweet is still a tender beginner; he to whom every soil is as his native soil is already strong; but he is perfect to whom the whole world is as a foreign land." Hugh of St Victor
"Our lives are frittered away with detail. Simplify, simplify..." Henry David Thoreau
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted CSers in London and Granada, organised bike rides, outings, meals, gamesnights, attended many events, couchsurfed in Granada, Geneva, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Toronto, Boston, Puebla, Oaxaca, Bogota, Quito, Buenos Aires (the list gets longer)
I am fortunate to have met amazing people who I now consider real friends.
Interests
I'm pretty chilled out. I love reading, drinking a coffee with friends, listening to music...
I feel most alive when I'm doing some sport - and it has to be outdoors: sailing, diving, cycling, horse-riding, rock climbing, snowboarding, just picking up surfing...
My latest craze is tango! So subtle and elegant...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Rachmaninov and Chopin are big on my list. And then I have varied tastes I'm constantly adding to: Indie Rock, classical, latin, electronic, dance, gotta love the 90s...
Books:
Jitterbug Perfume
His Dark Materials (The Golden Compass trilogy)
Thomas Hardy's novels,
1984, George Orwell
The little prince
The magic faraway tree, Enid Blyton
Ishmael, Daniel Quinn
Films:
The Notebook, Matchstick Men, Little Miss Sunshine, Amelie, Life is beautiful, The Goonies (everytime), Dances with Wolves, Closer, Dumb and Dumber,
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind...also like suspense (but a bit too much of a wimp for horror) Roadkill or Shawn of the dead (don't laugh!) are about all I can manage ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing the aurora borealis in Alaska, flying a two person plane over the glaciers and doing a zero gravity drop - woohoo! Seeing the stars over the atlas mountains of Morocco, climbing above the Amazon canopy at sunset and sunrise, crewing on a sail boat for 6 weeks down the Pacific coast of Central America...
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you English, Spanish, how to read music, how to crochet a funky scarf...
Teach me whatever you know or are passionate about!
I would like to improve my storytelling - anyone skilled out there?
Share: cooking recipes, language interchange (French, Spanish, Portuguese), poker tournament, a tango dance?
