About Me
*finally updated in September 2015 after 4 years of inactivity!*
I always struggle with these things... But here goes, this is me:
I'm 25, I live in Berlin and I teach English to adults here. I used to work in publishing in the UK, but gave up my job to move to my favourite city and have a whole new experience - which I am loving so far :)
I love to play badminton, to discover the endless new cafes and restaurants that Berlin has to offer, and I like to cook for people (because it's much more fun that way!)
I love learning languages and am really enjoying being immersed in German again after studying languages for my degree. I also love writing: my blog, postcards, letters...I'm a bit old school!
Despite my love of Germany, I am staunchly English and a huge fan of tea, squash and the seaside :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first got involved in CouchSurfing when I accidentally stumbled across a meeting in Stuttgart in a beach bar on top of a department store in 2009. I signed up that summer, and attended some meetings in Hannover when I moved to Germany as part of my degree the following summer in August 2010. I was even lucky enough to meet my flatmate and two lifelong friends at that one meeting in Hannover!
I have to admit that I haven't used it much, but I've just (September 2015) had such a positive experience CouchSurfing that I wanted to re-do my profile!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spending four days trekking around the jungle just north of Chiang Mai in Thailand, cooking and living with local people - a wonderfully eye-opening experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to talk about cultural differences within countries (for example I am from the south of England but went to university in the north, which is quite different.) I also love to eat cake, and will more than happily rattle off a list of recommendations for cake and other delicacies in Berlin :)
