About Me

Bonjour !

What you need to know about me ...

I'm a ferocious biker and cook, the streets and the kitchen are my two favourite playgrounds ! I'm also a passionate learner and professional: favorite topics are urban policy, disaster response, environmental and social systems. Otherwise, you can always count on me to go out, dance, sit at a terrasse, "flâner", go to club, read a good book, open a beer, watch weird movies, go to concerts, swim in lakes, talk about politics, meet people randomly, hang out with friends, eat unknown food, hike in the mountains, worry about climate change, cook some French specialties, share Brazilian music ....

UPDATE COVID19. To respect social distancing requirements and not endanger anyone while on the road, I am switching to yardsurfing! A little patch of grass for my tent or a couple of trees for my hammock :)

I lived, worked and studied in Paris, Sao Paulo, and now St. Louis.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A very good friend of mine told me one day that human feelings are not ready for globalisation. I directly understood what he meant by that, but I am forced to disagree: travellers of all nations, unite !

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite band is Digable Planets, definitely ! With Herbie Hancock and Erykah Badu I think I have a Top 3 .... let's not forget about cumbia to dance ... and also a good samba to wake up every morning :)

Movies ... Incendies from Denis Villeneuve ! But I like many things, what shocks me, makes me laugh, cry or feel weird ... what comes from the other side of the world or from another time. Randomly ? Bad Boy Bubby, Cléo de 5 à 7, I killed my mother, Chicken Run, Moonlight, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Mud ....

I just finished the Unbearable Lightness of Being, which I really enjoyed. Otherwise, I love Maupassant, Zola, as well as Toni Morrison or Orhan Pamuk. I mostly read non-fiction though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
