About Me

It's a hard question to answer given that I'm in the middle of an identity crisis. Some things I know for sure are...
I have a lot of empathy and loyalty.
I'm can be quiet and anxious.
I'm honest.
I'm embarrassing in a kitchen, but I like watching people cook.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently graduated with an acting degree from NYU and decided that I needed to get out of the city. Taking an epic road trip across the U.S.A. seemed to be the right combo of fantastic and feasible. In the process I hope to learn how to properly take care of myself, how to make friends fast, and how to take chances.

Interests

Someone recently asked me what my interests are outside of art and I couldn't come up with anything. I mean, obviously I have other interests, but I've been living in a theatre bubble for the last five years.

If I'm being honest with myself, my interests are Netflix, scheduling my life to pretend I have a semblance of control in a chaotic universe, befriending animals that offer me boundless love, drinking, throwing themed parties, and Tumblr.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently I'm listening to the High Fidelity soundtrack, Nina Simone, and a lot of music influenced by soul and R&B. However, I consider my musical tastes limited and scoop up as many artists as possible from the people I meet. It's the only way I ever successfully expand my musical horizons.

I've seen a lot of movies, but TV has had me by the throat for a solid four years or so. I like horror films the best, but most often watch underwhelming indie rom coms on Netflix Instant.

Some of my favorite books are One Hundred Years of Solitude, A Clockwork Orange, Neuromancer and White Light. My heart lies with dystopian fantasy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wrote, directed, and acted in my own play.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know that I can teach you anything, but I LOVE learning new recipes and how to make things like chairs, tables, how to put up a shelf! Basically, I wish I was handy and I'm not, so if you know how to hammer two pieces of wood together, color me impressed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always try to keep one recipe on hand that I can do an okay job cooking. That way maybe I can fix you up lunch or dinner some day!

If I've finished my book we could always book swap.

I'll totally do the dishes.
