About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to Captain a ship that’s never docked on land or sea.

ABOUT ME
I’m a world citizen born in the US, left and then returned after nine years abroad: teaching English in S. Korea and Oman, met my partner in the latter, then lived in Lebanon and volunteered in Turkey off and on for a year and a half. Wow. To say the least, I became who I am by stepping out of who I thought I was. I love aging (that doesn’t mean I’m particularly fond of the creaky bones and weird ailments every now and again) but I like myself more and more as I age and still haven’t lost that little taste for adventure, learning, and having new firsts. I’m back in the States with my now husband, Mohamad Ali Baydoun, a Lebanese crazy man taking the sales world by storm here. We are beginning again somewhat from scratch in the job market but I, as a new yoga teacher and juuuust started studying now to become a yoga therapist.

Every place I’ve traveled and lived has felt like I’ve lived a hundred different times. Looking forward to now and to what’s to come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

To really know a place, you have to meet the people. Joined in order to learn and know people and to show everyone how enjoyable even small towns can be if you know the locals in them. Started hosting in Gwangju, South Korea, Sur, Oman, Beirut, Lebanon and met loads of travelers through mutual workaway experiences on organic farms in Turkey. Haven’t been hosting much recently because we’ve been unofficially officially Couchsurfing ourselves with family and friends for about six months. Settling for some time in the States should open that back up.

Interests

Food! - cooking and eating it. Culture - seeing the differences and appreciating the chance to be a part of it. Language! I wish I knew all of them - what better way to connect and learn about people.
