About Me

CURRENT MISSION:

Spend a total of 8 weeks in New York, Iceland, England, and Germany.

ABOUT ME:

I am a friendly, curious person who wants to explore the world. Meeting new people and having new experiences are all things I enjoy. In the past, I have traveled up and down the West Coast, Canada, Mexico, and Germany. I drive to Seattle frequently to explore a city larger than mine.

Learning is a huge passion of mine. Having the ability to travel, see the world from a different perspective, hear stories, speak a new language, and to learn about how other people live their life is priceless. When I was in Germany, I stayed with a host family for two weeks. It was an experience that left me wanting more.

PHILOSOPHY:

Travel and education are the only things you can buy that make you richer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCH SURFING

I am on Couchsurfing because I am a broke college student who loves to be immersed in a culture. Learning German is important to me, so I value the ability to stay with a local. To me, travel includes having cultural experiences outside of tourist destinations. I would love it if a host were to show me around a new city! And if time is an issue, hearing of any great local spots or travel locations is always a plus. As long as there are pillows, blankets, and a shower to use, I will be happy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had several hosts now, and I absolutely LOVE couchsurfing! It's so nice to stay with people, get to know them, hear about their background, and learn about the local politics. I have learned so much from it, and it has given me a more global view of things. I look forward to chouchsurfing more throughout my trip!

Interests

I love to learn! Learning is my favorite thing to do in life. Whether it be about science, culture, individual people, or society, I enjoy learning. My other hobbies include hiking, running, biking, and working.

Some things I would like to do more during my travels include:
practice my German,
wander around new cities,
exchange stories and learn about my hosts,
learn more about photography,
learn the local history

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not the biggest music or movie connoisseur, but I do enjoy reading about local and world news. Personally, I am a wanderer. If I had a free afternoon, I would not go to the movies. Instead, I would walk around the city I live in, or go for a hike. Being active is important to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a 3 mile hike with a 1000 foot elevation change in Yosemite National Park. Most of that incline was for the second 1.5 mile half of the hike. The trail had this seemingly infinite amount of stairs carved into the mountain.

I entered college at 16.

A recent achievement was being accepted to a nursing program after three years of studying at a University. I start nursing school in August.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a positive attitude, an open mind, stories, and a good sense of humor. As a tutor whose native language is English, I can offer practice with speaking the language.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, Germany, Iceland, Luxembourg, Mexico, United States
