Overview
About Me
Grew up in Indonesia and mostly the Houston area! I've spent a lot of my childhood travelling and hope to continue on for a long while. I'm a Computer Science & Economics major and theatre nerd who loves making memories with others and seeing as much of the world as I can!
I'm currently traveling on my gap year through Europe which is an amazing adventure thus far
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Being able to share noteworthy experiences in my life with people I meet along the way, and I aspire to always learn something new from people who have done so much more than me! Experiencing new places and cultures through the lens of people who live there offers so much more insight and appreciation for the places you visit (compared to isolated hotels)
Interests
theatre, music, photography, art, anything that makes me feel like a healthy person (i.e. boxing, yoga, dance), learning new things, travel (obviously), languages, beautiful places, carpeing the diem
Music, Movies, and Books
Everything except for country (Bob Dylan can stay.. I'm talkin about tractor music), RnB, folk, rap, jazz, and indie are all great!
movie-wise, I'm a Marvel fan and partial to horror- I haven't seen enough movies to have more favorites than The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Inception.
as for books, I'm hoping to upgrade myself from absolute illiteracy- I've only read Tennessee Williams and basic classics, I'm desperate for titles and recommendations now that I finally have some semblance of free time. I can add American Gods and Norse mythology to this list now!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had a near death experience with a rockfish in Bunaken--
I think currently I'm in the most amazing phase in my life- a solo backpacking trip through Europe, living with openhearted Workaway hosts and learning about their lifestyle and wonderful cultures while being adopted into different families around the world
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some Indonesian or guitar? I could also reveal the secret recipes of Starbucks from my short time as a barista (please don't sue me)..
I'm willing to learn anything from someone willing to teach, or even just lend a helping hand wherever needed!
I learned some amazing secret Italian recipes from my time living with my Milanese family and can share those or Indonesian cuisine
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my college-student cooking skills, stories, experiences, classically greasy traditional gourmet American cuisine (...burgers or something equally unhealthy) or maybe some Indonesian/Italian food
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, England, France, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, Northern Ireland, Scotland, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, United States
