About Me

I'm energetic, social, spontaneous, chill, love being outdoors, really enjoy being present in the moment. I'm a gardener and a seed-saver and love learning other languages. Studying Spanish and doing a bit of ballroom and swing dancing led me to fall in love with latin dancing; salsa, bachata, cumbia, merengue, etc so I love to go find dancing places with this kind of music every chance I get! I love sharing good conversation and hearing all kinds of perspectives on the stuff of life and the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like meeting new people and this is a great way to do it especially while traveling. I like the idea of the gift economy that couchsurfing encourages.

Interests

I love all music and dancing from Latin America, my life would be empty without it! I love exploring new places, meeting new people, being inquisitive about other points of view, appreciating nature and all of its wonders, working in the garden and so many more things...

Music, Movies, and Books

Love latin american rhythms and all kinds of other chill music

I don't watch many movies or television in general. Love watching documentaries, TED talks, perennial plate videos and all kinds of other things like that one can so easily access online!

I usually read non-fiction like Michael Pollan, Pierre Rabhi, Wendell Berry, Barbara Kingsolver, Joan Dye Gussow, Vandana Shiva, Raj Patel and more. I listen to a lot of talks and podcasts so some of these people I have listened to more than actually read their books but their books are of course on my to read list! Some fiction I have read includes George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Christopher Isherwood and Paolo Coelho.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Planting a seed and watching it grow...never ceases to amaze me even though I've done it countless times!

Teach, Learn, Share

Always want to learn more about permaculture, other languages, other ways of seeing the world, to play a musical instrument, new plant based meals to prepare, how to do more practical things like building and fixing stuff, oh and so much more I want to learn!

I can teach about seed saving and gardening on the prairies to a certain extent. Spanish is close to my heart and I love speaking and sharing it with people. I was taught how to basic 3 ball juggle in a few wonderful simple steps by my friend Sparky and I could now teach you too. I can also teach the basic rhythms of and steps to salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, and other latin dances.
